HOW MUCH CAN A FORMER EMPLOYER DIVULGE Posted by: rootbeer on October 13, 1998 at 14:10:34: I have a question that falls into the human resources category. A few months ago, I was let go by a major bank. They got me to sign a sheet saying I was terminated. However, after my supervisor left, a human resources worker came in to see if I had any questions or concerns. I did. I asked her if they would accept a resignation instead of it going "down in the books" as a termination. She left the conference room and then returned a few minutes later, and said that if I wrote and signed a letter of resignation, they would accept it. I did. I am pursuing a career in law enforcement. How much can my former employer tell about my time as an employee there? PLEASE HELP ME Follow Ups
