Have you been living in a cabin in Montana for the past twenty years by any chance? This is the real world--employees do NOT get rewarded for hard work or self-improvement.

In addition, avoiding being monitored in the workplace is not a "vulgar desire to get something for nothing," but a desire to reestablish some privacy and trust at work. If my employer does not trust me to be a professional, then why the hell did she hire me in the first place? What good relationship (whether work, friendship or romance) really blossoms when it begins with distrusting one another?
