What really stinks is the fact that I moved cross country to take this job five months ago, took on mega debts to do so and now find myself stuck in an insane-asylum of a job. I work for the Police Department of a large city and have learned that A-the pay is not exactly what they advertised, B-the 'quality' training program turns out to be Xeroxed copies of the real program from the training center that our administrator has deemed 'too expensive' for us to attend, and C-the atmosphere in the place is a little worse than a submarine, a little better than a WWII Underground Bomb Shelter. I can do ANYTHING for five, six, seven months and so can you! An example of what I'm doing to prepare my escape? I was promised specialized training at a facility that specializes in legal training. Believe it or not, even though my training has ALREADY BEEN PAID FOR, I'm NOT allowed to attend, because the fiscal advisors feel our department can't afford to have staff absent for a week while they learn to do their jobs!!!! I get three weeks of paid vacation this year. I found out how much the courses cost to the average person on the street and I'm paying...
