:Dear Ryan,
I would like to comment on you opinion of employees and management. I am an architect who works WITH employees on solutions to their SUGGESTIONS. If that person(s)has not been TRAINED in solution solving,LIKE I HAVE BEEN, then take the TIME to explain what they have to do, as you have suggested,to make it easier on everyone to accompolish the answer.
I agree to some extent as to how employees should shoulder more of the thoughtout solutions....but I feel that AS MANAGERS we need to be the sounding board for those who think that we are magical fairies! I have found in my 40 years of working with people, that you had better
understand your ASSOCIATES for WHO THEY ARE instead of SHUT UP AND DO THE WORK. The concept of TEAMWORK is just that. I can't tell you how many times our associates have come thru due to basic CONSIDERATION. Yes it takes time and patience. In our case it took years of associate/manager planning in future work. I credit your ambition for management abilities, but NOT to the extent that a company has lost your respect from your staff.
Our company understands also that TOO much work is as bad as not enough work. We only have a 9% profit increase annually, but its a enjoyable 9%!

How is it that employees want their managers to "fix" things yet all some employees offer are criticism to everyone else about their bosses and their jobs?

: If you're one to ponder (a waste of time we've all experienced) why our managers fail to read our minds and not simply DO what seems so simple (only to us, no doubt) I offer this line of questioning:

: HOW MANY SOLUTIONS - TO PROBLEMS - HAVE YOU OFFERED YOUR BOSS?

: OF THE SOLUTIONS YOU'VE OFFERED HOW MANY WERE SUPPORTED BY COMMENTS (AND WRITTEN PLANS) - FROM YOU - SUCH AS:

: "I'VE THOUGHT LONG AND HARD ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND AFTER CONSULTING WITH MANY OF MY CO-WORKERS, INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF OUR WORK GROUP, MY SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVING THE SITUATION ARE SUCH AND SUCH

: AND

: I... (truncated)
