Want to chip in for office stuff? Posted by: Rob on December 05, 1998 at 14:55:22: What is the deal with companies that want you to chip in some of your cash for office items? A coffee machine, a toaster, a plant. . .. My company is worse than this however. They don't ask for _these_ things. They want _us_ to pay for computer hardware. "What?!?" you say. Yes, they want us, almost force us to enroll in laptop purchase program. We basically pay for half the laptop, and its ours. But the catch is that if you don't buy a laptop, you don't get one for office work. I didn't buy into it. So, I have to hassle with getting a computer to do my job, which is computer software consultant. Oh yes, you read right. I do all my work on computer, and they want me to pay half. Follow Ups
