The government works slowly. If you have ideas on how to improve things, try to offer them slowly and gradually. Many workers have been in their positions for almost twenty years doing the same work the same way, and really are threatened by any new blood. Just try to blend at first (without compromising too much of your ideals), then offer suggestions for improvement gradually. : I'm starting a new long-term temp job with the government next week. Having never before worked in a bureaucratic environment like that, any helpful hints would be much appreciated.
